LifeChurch Unley is a new community of faith that began meeting in July 2009. We are part of the Unley Park Baptist Church and still meet at the Church building, yet we function as our own community, with a particular emphasis on doing Church in a fresh and contemporary way, being an authentic caring community and connecting the message of Jesus with people who have not heard it before.
The concept for LifeChurch began with a group of us reassessing the basics of why and how we ‘do’ church. We started asking ourselves questions like – What does it mean to be a church in the contemporary Australian context? How do we share the good news of hope and new life in Jesus in our secular society? How do we help people go deeper into Christian faith so they experience God’s presence and guidance in their lives?
We met, discussed, prayed and planned over a period of 9 months starting in late 2008. The end result is LifeChurch Unley. Our journey has just begun and our story is still being written. Why don’t you join us and become part of it yourself?
